Action will be taken  against illegal schools

ST CORRESPONDENT

Mumbai: State Education Minister Ashish Shelar on Monday said in the State Assembly that there are 61 illegal schools in Pune district and the education officer has been directed to initiate action against these schools.

MLA Bhimrao Tapkir from Khadakwasla said that 85 schools were declared illegal. “The Education Department has not informed the parents about the schools. The academic year has already begun and if any parent has admitted their child in these schools, the entire year of the child will be wasted. The government should take action,” Tapkir said. Shelar replied, “There is a provision of penalty, but we have not penalised anyone yet. But action will be taken soon.”
